Brenda Parker

Dr. Brenda Parker is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs at UIC. Her research focuses on gender and other inequalities in cities and governance. She is the author of a book, Masculinities and Markets: Gender, Race, and Urban Politics in Milwaukee, and several research articles. She sits on the board of many academic and community organizations, including Cabrini Green Legal Aid in Chicago. While she enjoys traveling to new cities and hiking in nature, she is currently hunkered down at home with her spouse and three children to help ‘flatten the curve.’
