Shruthi Jayaram
Shruthi Jayaram is a Partner at Dalberg Advisors and based in the Washington DC office. She co-leads Dalberg’s Global Gender practice and is also part of the leadership team working to advance justice, equity, and economic mobility in the United States specifically. Shruthi focuses on advancing gender equality and social justice, with a particular focus on structural change to increase women’s power in the economy, reduce and prevent domestic violence, strengthen the care economy, and advance the quality of reproductive healthcare. She has developed strategies and tools for clients in the public, philanthropic, and non-profit sector. Examples of her clients include the Executive Office of the UN Secretary General, Hewlett Foundation, Blue Meridian Partners, Futures without Violence, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, Women’s Donor Network, the San Francisco Human Rights Commission, and REDF.
Shruthi has authored numerous reports and articles on gender equality and social justice, including recent publications on expanding equitable access to abortion pills as well as abortion care more generally, supporting women’s leadership in STEM, the role of private investment in the US care economy, the case for valuing women and girls’ unpaid care work, and how the philanthropy sector needs to shift to help build a more equitable future.
Prior to joining Dalberg, Shruthi worked as an economist and policymaker. She holds a dual Master of Public Administration from Columbia University’s SIPA and the National University of Singapore, as well as a B. A. in Economics from St. Stephen’s College at the University of Delhi.
Shruthi is on the Advisory Board of two organizations –Career Girls, an organization that seeks to bridge the imagination gap between young girls and boys; and ShePersisted, an organization that works to address gendered disinformation against female politicians.
